My expertise in the following - What I call the 3 step process

Step 1) Understanding/Assessing Requirements with Analysis of Existing Applications to Develop new ones
By Translating Business requirements or Assessing current systems via Heuristic Analysis/Task Analysis using Focus Groups/User Polls Survey's/Data Analysis.

Step 2) Translating Analysis to Information Structures & Designs
By Building Taxonomy using Sitemaps/Personas/Flow or Case Diagrams/Card Sorting & then Creating User Centered Designs using Wireframes/Mockups/ High-low Fidelity Prototypes.

Step 3) Evaluation & Delivery
And finally by Conducting Usability Evaluations using Test Scripts, and delivering the design to the development team and by closely monitoring that, the developed product is exactly what was envisioned and designed.
